Endless Horizons

This is a painting on top of one of my very first oil paintings.  I had just discovered the beauty and ease of blending soft wispy clouds to make serene skyscapes.  I loved it at the time, but as I grew as an artist, I saw the lack of depth and refinement and added in the missing details to elevate it into something new while keeping the basic composition and some of the original vibrant color. 

I have a deep love of wide open spaces and I hope I captured that expensive feeling I get while standing on a remote section of the lake Michigan Shoreline.
